How many amps is your well pump? That's my only power outage issue is no water, ive got much smaller champion investor that runs the basics.

Why are you using a natural gas hose (grey) for propane? That's a huge no-no.

You are losing a bit of efficiency with the ribbed hoses IMO. Suggest changing to PVC flex and will improve your numbers slightly.

Great video. I want to do the same. Is the black tubing cheaper than PVC? Does it hold up to dirt/soil better? I've seen other videos where people run PVC the entire length underground.

I did this except I added paver sand and pavers on top. Gravel will settle and form ruts over time.

I know this is an old video - it is super helpful to me. But I have a question re the size of pump (volume per minute or hour) that would make sense with this unit without a speed controller. I intend to use a diverter or a splitter valve to divert water back to the pool once the sweet spot is hit, i.e., right volume going through the coil to achieve an optimal temp coming out. Just wondering about the pump hp that would be recomended - half hp, one hp, one and a half? or what volume per minute or hour would be my best choice. Thanks

So actually the gate is suppose to swing out the way you have it installed at first. Because the fence is around a pool the outward swing is proper.

Black & Decker?!! I am reminded of the salsa commercial where the cowboys are sitting around the camp fire and the salsa is FROM NEW YORK CITY? I really like your base. The best thing to do is dump 1/2 a bag add water, and slosh a bit; gets rid of air and dry spots. Last year winterizing the sand filter, I took a butter tub and scooped the sand out into cat litter buckets (two) from my 18", 75 pound set up, and then scooped it back in the spring. I have been using the teflon putty, which is WAY better than the teflon tape. So far it looks good, but will be looking forward to a quality update down the road. My 26ft x 52in install is in the final engineering, and I will be prepping the ground within the month, 15,000 gallons 🙂 Go big or go home.

How bad does it sag with the cover on. Have a 27ft pool and the reel I got sags terribly.

Mine sometimes throws that error on startup. Just push the red AC reset button and then your good to go.

Hi, my power and pump wires has a neutral wire as well (along with 2 line/load and ground). Since this wifi timer does not have a port to insert these neutral wires, is it ok to just close them safely?

installed mine today. Super easy if you follow this. The instructions are a little sketchy. To start they say you need 13mm, but the fasteners are actually 12 and 14 for the Sentinel and 3/4 for the step as he states in the video!

how did you connected the raspberry to the rs232 (rj45 plug) on the inverter?

Pool noodles are a great idea. Just be warned, after a couple seasons or so they start to disintegrate and all those little noodle particles get into the pool/filter. FYI

Use the handle end of an old skimmer pole (minus the net, and make sure the handle is completely over the end of the pole) and use handle end of pole to help guide the portions of the cover you can't reach to either end of the pool. YW

How high do they lift up while pivoting? We need one to lift up over our deck railing.

Just a question if you don't mind.....how high can it tilt up to be moved? We have a deck post that may require it being lifted over to move around to rest spot thanks.
